| Bill Clapp built this KR-2S from boat stage to test flight in less than two years. The airplane features
the new KR airfoils on the wing and tail. It is the first KR-2S ever to fly on Corvair power. Perhaps the most
outstanding feature of the aircraft is that it cost $7,200, including the engine.
| | Bill Clapp has attended several of our Corvair Colleges, and is known in the Corvair world for being
a friendly, outgoing, helpful builder. Bill is an A&P, and comes from a family of missionary pilots. His
family owned and flew a KR-2 in South America. Bill's dad has 15,000 hours of safe flying in single engine
airplanes in jungle conditions. Bill owns his own business restoring classic VW automobiles.
| | Bill's aircraft features many items from our own parts catalog,
including our KR Cowling, Motor Mount, Prop Hub,
Front Starter Kit, and Dual Ignition Distributor.
