Today at 09:45 May 27, 2006 Pietenpol N92GB left the earth on its first test flight.
I have been working on this Pietenpol for 6.6 years. The plane was built from Pietenpol plans with a
1964 / 164 Corvair engine with the Pietenpol/Wynne conversion. I guess the only Pietenpol portion of
the conversion was the oil bath intake manifold; the rest is strictly Wynne. We put the
Front Starter and Prop Hub
parts from your shop on it and so far everything is working quite well.
I built my engine from Manual #5151 and it seems to be running real well.
I have 6.7 hours on it so far and no problems. You saw my engine at Barber Field at the
Corvair Collage you had there a couple years ago.
I marvel at the time you spend at aviation and research. I also enjoy your articles in Sport Pilot.
You have a knack for keeping people motivated. Thanks, I'm no longer looking over the airport fence.
I now am over the fence and in the air.
Thank You
